I have a '95 GLE with the V6 engine. It has 138,000 miles on it and still purring. Do these engines have a timing belt that needs replaced or are these engines gear driven? Also, what do you think about using sythentic oil in this engine? thanks

 

The 95 and newer Maxima have timing chain. I would not use synthentic oil at the stage, too old and too many miles. It is not cost effective, continue using normal oil.
