Default alternator

I am replacing the alternator on my 88NA. While taking the old one off, I yanked on the 2 wires which goes into a plug on the back of the alternator and they came off. I am not sure which wire goes to the which side of the plug. One wire is thicker than the other one. Can you tell me which side of the plug get the thicker wire ? When you look at the back of the alternator, the bottom of the plug is the "catch". Is the thicker wire at 9:00 o clock or 3 o clock. Thanks for your help

First the positive usually gets the thicker wire but since i am not sure which that wood be go out and get a HAYNES "Service repair manual" at any auot zone pepboys or merlins or waht ever kind of auto superstores u have in your area they are like 5-8 bucks and they should be able to pretty much help u out with any kind of mechanical problem with the car (i.e. Replacing radiators, Changing pulleies and belt, alternators, ect.) if not just call up your local Z speacialist and i'm sure they would be more than willing to five you a minute of your time if you have no Z shop in your area than contact Z1motorsports @ www.z1motorsports.com get their phone number and give them a call! Good luck
